Initial ideation of the design was quite quick, as the initial sketch was of the glass in the inverted arch shape but as a wall sconce. From there I thought patterning the glass in a circle, and creating a cascading tiered silhouette would fit nicely with the glass' form.
C005 - Arden
Arden is an outdoor lantern that blends a traditional gas lantern design with a modern manufacturing, technology and materials. Using an acrylic light guide, and LED down lighting allows for a unique design language that has been lacking when it comes to options available on the market.
Initial sample proved to have questionable proportions, using green tape to block out some of the material to allow for redistributing the visual weight. This helped give clarity and design direction for the outdoor lantern.
